We prioritize our funding and support for schools that serve low-income communities and are demonstrating success or are well-positioned to do so
Schools are eligible to be considered for investment if they serve a student population that’s greater than 40% FRL and have met one of the following criteria for two of the last three years:
- Outperformed the Minneapolis district average on MCA proficiency (elementary and middle schools)
- Achieved greater than expected growth with their students or are beating the district average in progress toward proficiency (elementary and middle schools)
- Shown they have achieved college readiness scores of greater than 21 on the ACT (high schools)
- Beat the district average for percent of students attending and graduating college (high schools)
- Provided evidence on measures other than the MCA, ACT and/or college persistence that they are on the right track toward closing the opportunity gap
