Shayla Owodunni is a strategist, storyteller, and systems-thinker with experience spanning corporate finance, IT governance, risk and compliance, privacy, and communications. She is the Founder of Corporate Carpentry Consulting, advising organizations such as Starbucks, Zumiez, and Seattle Children’s Hospital, and also leads The Plant Penthouse, a biophilic design studio recognized by HGTV and Apartment Therapy.
Committed to equity, innovation, and accountability, Shayla ran for the Minneapolis School Board in 2024 and recently completed a 600-hour AmeriCorps service term as an Early Learning Corps tutor, with her Ms. Shayla Reads initiative now featured in national training. She holds a joint degree in Accounting and Entrepreneurial Management from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School, where she serves on the Alumni Board and chairs the Carlson 360 Network.
