Dedicated to highlighting clients’ voices and putting inclusion at the forefront of the work she does, Hamdi Husein is the Manager of Literacy at Great MN Schools. Prior to her work with GMS, Hamdi led systemic changes in public schools as a School Counselor impacting over 600 staff and students. She has also spent time supporting BIPOC entrepreneurs with the intent to close the racial wealth gap. Hamdi earned her B.S in Psychology with a minor in Sociology at Minnesota State University, Mankato. She returned to the institution and earned a Master of Science in Counseling and Student Personnel with an emphasis in Professional School Counseling K12. Her advocacy for marginalized folks, especially immigrant populations, has remained steadfast. Hamdi is committed to championing innovation and closing opportunity gaps.
