Javaris is a University of Minnesota Twin Cities graduate. Upon graduating he began to pursue a career in education. His interests and education heavily lie within sociology, with an emphasis in quantitative analysis on race-relations. Javaris taught both poor Black and Latinx students, which gave him the opportunity to research and analyze the effects of systematic oppression from another angle and perspective.

Since 2018 Javaris has been a  DEI consultant for a number of organizations and cooperatives whose focus has been on black communities. In short, Javaris has been able to provide a racial equity lens when called upon. These experiences, in combination with his undergraduate education, have granted him the skill set needed to embark on a career with Great MN Schools.
